Tides of illusion

She wept in sorrow, deep distress;
her grief no one knew,
her voice never heard,
her face never seen.

she was born on a mulberry tree, she said,
she hated the way she looked,
she felt like the sand kicked.

From dawn to dusk,
with fear and hate,
with flesh and blood,she prayed.
she prayed to see the angel beneath,
whom would lurk the land of glee.

Moved by the sweet little heart she had,
was she shown the path to spree,
where she saw her man to be,
Of all the things her soul went through,
this was the one that was true,
until she knew it was misconstrue.

Held by the waves of coy within,
hit by the tides of cold outside,
slapped by the stick of morals one side,
burnt by the fire of passion,all sides;

Trapped by the power of love; she wept,
stumped by the realm of truth; she wept,
pinned by the wheel of time; she wept,
gulled by the shell of null; she wept

Her grief no one knew,
Her voice never heard,
Her face never seen.

Somewhere there

She was suddenly there,
She didn't realise she had come this far,
Or did she not want to?
She didn't know how she had come so far so soon,
she could never run fast,
Or could she?
But this was what the world kept telling her,
Didn't it?
To go farther than one could possibly go,
what was she expecting?
Bliss is it?

No!she told herself,
I know I will get there someday,
I will go to a land far far away,
where I can see the mountains and touch the deep blue skies,
play with the shadows of green leaves,
watch the swans as they shake their backs,
snoop around snails,
hear the hiss of water,
and kiss the air.

she would then; she thought,
tell the world with her head held high,
This is where I belong!

And then,
There would just be happiness,
the melancholy would be lost forever,
The tomorrows would be brighter,
she could bask in this glory forever, she thought.

Ah, the power of a woman's will got her there,
she saw the bright light she wanted to see,
she saw the twinkling stars,
and the never ending ocean.
she kept saying,
I know it, I know it well and I know it now,
there is nowhere to go,
there is nothing more to see.

Deep inside,
somewhere buried within her
was a voice,
the voice which asked her,
Are you happy now?
She kept mum,
a silent tear trickled down her cheek,
her pride and will melted away,
as she said,
I thought this is what I wanted,
was I wrong?

The voice within her said,
Bahaha! you fool,
as long as I am there,
Nothing can ever be fair!
