The Unfaithful Seed

In a dark-dense forest, there stood a banyan tree;
a tree that grew tall and mighty,
building its own abbey,
extending its roots far beneath the ground,
looking for those pearls that would make him grow profound.
Joyous with his soaring success as lofty as Mt. Everest,
in this impenetrable dense forest,
did the banyan decide,
to invest on a little seedling,
and nurture her with love and care.

Intoxicated with this bundling;
exuberant with fondness and affection,
cosy under his shade of warmth and compassion,
was this little seedling,
brazen with boredom.

On one quiet night did the little seedling,
escape from the clutches of those long creepers,
that held her to the tree;
from which she thought she could never be free.
Frolicking around the forest did she think,
what a foolish old tree he was!
for believing how she could never survive,
all by herself, even for a wink.

Strutting around the forests of better worlds,
being among seedlings that swirled,
those that seldom talked about the older trees they came from,
little did the seedling, think about the place wherefrom she escaped.
Never been better, thought the young seedling,
wiser and stronger, she believed she was growing,
There were times when she had an inking,
about how she could forget the old tree,
and all those things he gave her in his country.

As the wheel of time turned,
while she was rejoicing with all the things she had earned,
there struck a storm in the deadliest of its form,
never had she experienced this kind of alarm,
in all those years, she had been away from her familiar farm!
Sweating and swaying with the waves of wind,
gasping for breath while this horror engulfed her mind,
silently praying and searching for a familiar creeper to hold!

In that grief struck moment, she wished;
she wished to touch that familiar mould,
the one that had given her all the nourishment,
he who gave her all his enrichment.

Just as she closed her eyes tight,
and clenched her leaves with fright,
At that very moment when she decided to give up
and get lost in the whirling wind,
was she hugged by the huge barky banyan,
in whose presence she always felt like a minion;
drowned the young seedling,
in a never ending Sea of Unfaithfulness.
